While it seems really dangerous when you look at it now, my parents were probably in the minority of actually putting me in a seat belt back in 1970.
Guess the car

It's a 1970 Type III Squareback
And 505Turboux's award - Another glimpse at my time as a daredevil in 1970. It's a miracle I survived and/or remained in the custody of my parents.
Try getting away with this now a days...

I know those oh shit straps as a VW, and the back glass calls it as a squareback maybe?

VW all the way. Terror straps and seat belts (mostly unused) are a dead giveaway. 1970? You're about my age. I was born in 1966. My dad had a dark green Beetle at this time, but I don't really remember it.

I tell my kids stories of how I used to take naps on the floor boards, or we would play in the back of the station wagon; all while my parents were DRIVING! A different time for sure.
Our youngest will flip out and yell at whoever is driving if they start moving before she has buckled herself in. She also yells when I go a little too fast (I keep it safe, since my kids are with me). I think she is a little afraid of living dangerously. HAHA!

More dangerous than just letting you sleep on the seat? Doubt it.

"While it seems really dangerous when you look at it now,"
Now = today. Dangerous for 2014 standards.

Dangerous maybe, but no seat belts, vinyl seats and going fast around corners makes for excellent fun in the backseats.
